Loosing weight with the RSF!
14/12/2007 by Simeon Orme.
I know good way of loosing weight after the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations and yes it work for me has I have lost about stone in weight and got a lot fitter over the past year, you just have to ask my friends in the South Lakes Group and yes one of the best ways of loosing weight is going out with your local cycling club each weekend, its surprising how many calories you burn over 25 to 30 mile ride even after including the visits to local cafes on route. So why not give it ago come out on one of the South Lakes Group rides or Lancashire Group rides or North Peak & South Pennine Group rides in the coming year, you never know you may in enjoy it and see areas of the countryside that you never see from a car window.

New Membership Forms
12/12/2007 by Simeon Orme.
If you reading this post you must be member of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship, do have cycling friends who would like to join the RSF, why not ask your local area group secretary for few new business card size application forms to handout to your mates or other cyclists you meet on your travels, if every member just got one person to join the RSF, we would have over thousand members.
If you don’t go out with a local RSF Group why not send Peter Kenner the RSF General Secretary a e-mail with your name and address so he can send you few of these new application forms so that you can hand them out to your friends.
Why you may ask is it important to recruit new members? The more cyclists and mountain bikers join the RSF the more our voice will listen to my local and national government departments. Also the RSF is about only national cycling club in the UK which is interest in developing network of local groups for the off-road cyclists and mountain bikers which put on local events for members.
If you reading this post and you not a member, shame on you its about time you join, click this link and fill out the application form and send it off to the new membership secretary tomorrow with your membership fee.

Lancaster CTC Section Social Evening tomorrow Evening
10/12/2007 by Simeon Orme.
Tuesday 11th December 2007
David Allison, who last season gave us a splendid illustrated talk on the Settle to Carlisle Railway, is our quest speaker again at tomorrow evening’s social at the Hala Centre starting at 7.30 pm.
This time he will be presenting a programme entitled ” Transport delights of the Isle of Man”. This should be well worth attending. Those of us who walked the entire length of Isle of Man coastal route a few years ago will remember the amazing variety of forms of public transport available in the island. We sampled many of these as we traveled from and back to Ramsey each day to do different sections of the walk.
Everyone welcome tomorrow night.
The talk will be accompanied by our Christmas Jacob’s Join.

Connect 2 Project its time to vote!
07/12/2007 by Simeon Orme.
Has its been pointed out to me this week in two e-mails its time to vote for the Sustran’s Connect 2 Project, you can do this at the People’s 50 Million website.
Why should I vote for connect 2, well if reading this blog or if you are Rough-Stuff Fellowship member you must be interest in seeing the off-road network being expanded in the UK and with the 50 million pounds Sustran’s is aiming connect 79 communities with each other by improving the cycle path network.
In the Lancaster and Morecambe area where I have seen some of the benefits extra money makes to the cycle path network, so please vote for the connect 2 project.
